WordPress and Shopify Web Development That Makes It Easy to Choose You
Tonic builds websites on WordPress and Shopify. We plan every site around one question: what does a visitor need to see before they pick up the phone or reach out? You get a site that explains what you do, looks like the business you run today, and makes the next step obvious.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or replacing a site that stopped pulling its weight, it starts with a conversation, not a template.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Is your website helping you win customers, or quietly sending them elsewhere?
Nobody wakes up wanting a website project. You notice small things first. A customer mentions they couldn’t find your hours. A competitor’s site looks sharper. Updating one page turns into a week of back and forth.
You're a little embarrassed to share the link.
It reflects the business you were a few years ago, not the one you run now.
People can't tell what to do next.
There's no clear way to call, book, or ask a question from the page they landed on.
Phones are a struggle.
Text is small, buttons are cramped, and menus fight back.
Small edits feel like big projects.
So the site falls behind, one skipped update at a time.
You've added services the site never mentions.
Customers don't know you offer them.
You don't have a site yet.
You're leaning on referrals and social profiles, and you want a home base you own.
Here's a fair question to ask yourself: if your site stays exactly as it is for another year, what does that cost you in calls you never hear about?

WHAT WE'LL SCOPE TOGETHER
Your site, planned with you before anything gets built
Every business is different, so we don’t sell a one size package. On your free consult we work through these together and agree on the scope before work begins.

Your pages.
Which pages you need, from the home page to a page for each service you offer.
Look and feel.
A design that fits your brand and holds its own next to your competitors.
Phones and desktops.
How your customers actually visit, and what that means for layout.
Your words and images.
Tonic writes your site copy. If you have a current site, we can move the content worth keeping over to the new one.
The rest of your marketing.
How the site fits with any SEO or Paid Ads you run now or plan to run.
Hosting.
We'll recommend hosting that fits your site. Tonic doesn't sell hosting itself.

FAQ
Questions about web development
What platform do you build websites on?
WordPress and Shopify. WordPress is usually the better fit for service businesses and sites built around content. Shopify is usually the better fit for online stores. On your consult we’ll help you pick the one that fits your business.
Do you build online stores?
Yes. When selling products online is the main job of your site, we build on Shopify. We’ll talk through what your store needs on your consult.
Can you redesign my current website?
Yes, we can plan a new WordPress or Shopify site to replace it. On the consult we’ll look at what you have, help you choose the right platform, and talk through what’s worth carrying over.
How much does a new website cost?
It depends on scope: how many pages you need, what’s on them, and what the site has to do. That’s why we don’t publish packages. Once we understand what you need, we’ll walk you through it on the consult.
How long does a website project take?
That depends on the size of the project, so we cover timing on your consult once we know what you need. We’d rather give you an honest answer than a guess.
Will I be able to update the site myself?
WordPress and Shopify both let you make everyday edits without code. Tell us on the consult who will handle updates on your side, and we’ll keep that in mind as we plan.
Will a new website help my SEO or ads?
Your website is where search and ad traffic lands, so it matters when the site and your marketing work together. If you’re doing SEO or running ads, or planning to, bring it up on the consult and we’ll plan the site with that in mind.
Do you write the copy for my website?
Yes. Tonic writes the site copy, built around what your customers need to see before they reach out.
Can you move content over from my current site?
Yes. We can move your existing content over to your new WordPress or Shopify site. On the consult we’ll go through what’s worth keeping and what needs fresh writing.
Do you host websites?
No. Tonic doesn’t sell hosting. We’ll recommend hosting that fits your site.
What happens after my site launches?
Tonic offers care plans that include updates and backups, so your site stays current after it goes live. We’ll talk through care plans on your consult.
Can you work with us if you're not nearby?
Yes. Tonic works with businesses nationwide.
What would a better website change for your business?
Book a free consult and tell us where your current site falls short. We’ll listen, ask good questions, and give you an honest take on what to build next. No pressure, no pitch deck.
