Your best posts, rebuilt to rank again.
Older posts slip as stats go stale, links break, and competitors publish newer content. RefreshBoost is Tonic’s content refresh service: we update your existing articles with fresh keyword research, current sources, answer-first structure, and at least 50% new content, so they’re ready to compete in Google and get picked up by AI tools. No starting from scratch.
THE PROBLEM
Good content goes stale faster than ever.
A post that ranked well two years ago is now competing with newer articles, AI Overviews, and algorithm updates. Its stats are out of date, some of its links are broken, and it was never structured for the question-style searches people use today. Traffic slips a little every month.
Writing everything from scratch is slow and expensive. Refreshing the posts that already have history is usually the faster way back.
Your posts already have history
The URL, the links pointing at it, and the time it's been indexed all carry over. A refresh builds on that instead of starting from zero.
You already paid for the content
Updating a post takes a fraction of the effort of writing a new one, and it often does more for your traffic.
AI tools favor fresh, clear pages
Current sources, clear headings, and direct answers make a page far easier for AI Overviews and chat tools to quote.
WHAT CHANGES IN A REFRESH
Seven upgrades in every refreshed post.
Here’s what a content refresh actually changes, so you know exactly what you’re getting back.
- 1Fresh keyword researchMatched to how people search today, including the conversational, question-style queries AI tools are built on.
- 2Sources and stats modernizedEvery outbound link and stat checked. Broken or stale sources replaced with current, credible ones.
- 3At least 50% new contentNew sections, examples, and data the original never had.
- 4Answer-first structureClear H2s, short answer blocks, and FAQs that match the questions in People Also Ask and AI answers.
- 5Semantic keyword alignmentThe related terms search engines use to judge how fully a topic is covered.
- 6Internal and outbound links updatedPointing to your current pages and the most relevant outside sources.
- 7One new imageStock or provided by you, included with every refresh.
HOW REFRESHBOOST WORKS
From tired post to refreshed page in four steps.
Every refresh follows the same steps, and every refresh comes with a changelog of what we changed.
Pick the post
Choose a post to refresh, whether we wrote it or someone else did. We'll suggest the ones with the most upside.
Audit and plan
Keyword research and a content gap check show what the post is missing and what's out of date.
Refresh
We rewrite and expand it: new content, current sources, better structure, updated links, and a new image.
Publish or deliver
On WordPress, we publish it. Otherwise it's delivered in the format your developer prefers, with a changelog either way.
We publish it for you
We update the post on your site, on the same URL, so you don't have to touch a thing.
We deliver it to you

FAQ
Questions about RefreshBoost.
What problems does RefreshBoost solve?
RefreshBoost is a content refresh service for posts that are losing traffic, citing stats or sources that are out of date, carrying broken links, or not structured for the question-style searches people and AI tools use today. We update them so they’re ready to compete again.
How is a refresh different from a rewrite?
We keep what works, like the URL and its history, and replace or expand what doesn’t. At least half of every refreshed article is new content.
What changes in a refreshed post?
Fresh keyword research, modernized sources and stats, at least 50% new content, answer-first headings and FAQs, semantic keywords, updated internal and outbound links, and one new image.
Do you publish the refreshed post?
If your site runs on WordPress, yes, we publish it for you. On any other platform, we deliver it in the format your developer prefers, such as a Google Doc or ready-to-paste content.
What do I get back?
The refreshed article (published on WordPress, or delivered in the format your developer prefers), one new image, and a changelog that lists every change we made.
Which posts should we refresh first?
Usually posts that once ranked well and slipped, posts sitting just outside the top 10, and anything older than about 6 months with outdated stats or broken links. We’ll suggest the ones with the most upside.
Do you change the URL?
No. Keeping the URL preserves its history and the links already pointing to it.
Can you refresh posts someone else wrote?
Yes. We refresh posts we wrote and posts from any other writer or agency.
What lengths are available?
RefreshBoost is ordered per article, at 500, 1,000, 1,500, or 2,000 words.
Will a refresh guarantee better rankings?
No one can guarantee rankings or AI citations. A refresh fixes the things that commonly hold older posts back, which gives them a much better chance to compete.
Is RefreshBoost part of other plans?
Content refresh is part of DiscoverOS. You can also order RefreshBoost on its own, one article at a time.
